Fantasy Wrap: Friday, March 13

The Headlines

Donovan Mitchell just turned Dallas into a practice facility. The Cavs' 33-point demolition in Dallas wasn't close, wasn't competitive, and frankly wasn't fair. Mitchell led the charge in a blowout that screams "load management incoming" for the rest of this road trip. If you own him, enjoy the ceiling game while it lasts. If you're on waivers eyeing Cavs role players, pump the brakes.

Cade Cunningham put up 64 ESPN FP to pad his fantasy credentials as Detroit's primary engine. The Pistons pulled away early against Memphis, and Cade did his thing in a game that was decided by halftime. Solid line, nothing flashy, but the volume is undeniable.

Elsewhere, Jalen Brunson carried New York through a sloppy affair against Indiana. The Knicks were messy, but Brunson stayed clean with 48 ESPN FP. This is peak Brunson usage right here.

Top Performers

  1. Donovan Mitchell (CLE) - Led the Cavs' 33-point hammer job. Mitchell was the engine of a statement win that had no business being this lopsided.

  2. Cade Cunningham (DET) - 64 ESPN FP against Memphis. Early lead meant Cade could play his pace without needing to force anything.

  3. Jalen Brunson (NYK) - 48 ESPN FP in a grind-it-out Knicks victory. Brunson did heavy lifting in an ugly win, which is exactly what you pay for.

  4. Isaiah Jackson (IND) - Showed up in a losing effort. Robinson exploded for the Knicks, but Jackson kept Indiana from getting completely embarrassed.

  5. Ja Morant (MEM) - Garbage time hero who still found the stat sheet in a blowout loss. The volume was there even when the game wasn't.

The Disappointments

Luka Doncic (DAL) - We're not gonna sugarcoat this. Getting worked 33 points at home is not the vibe. Dallas came out flat, and when your best player can't drag you back, the fantasy line suffers. Bench games are real.

Brandon Ingram (MEM) - Memphis's secondary scoring evaporated once Detroit got rolling. Ingram didn't have enough opportunities in a game that got out of hand early.

Waiver Priority

  1. Backup Cavs guards/wings - If Mitchell's load gets managed, someone's eating 25 minutes. This team is too good to let one guy carry the whole load in blowouts.

  2. Memphis bench guys - The Grizzlies got run out of the gym. Look for adjustment-game minutes coming up, which means opportunity cost for whoever had the night off last night.

  3. Dallas role players - CLE made DAL look silly. Expect rotational tweaks and potentially expanded minutes for guys trying to fix what went wrong.

Sell High, Buy Low

Sell High on Mitchell - One blowout win doesn't change his profile, but if you own him and someone's offering depth for a "hot hand" trade, consider it. Blowout games inflate lines. Get value before load management whispers start.

Buy Low on Doncic - Yeah, tonight sucked. But one flat game against a hot Cavs team doesn't tank his season. If a panic seller hits your DMs, don't walk, sprint to the trade block.

Buy Low on Ingram - Garbage time doesn't define players. Ingram got caught in a Memphis collapse, not a performance issue. This is a depth discount you should exploit.

Sell High on Brunson - The Knicks needed everything out of him last night. If someone's overvaluing one 48-FP game as a trend, move him for a guy with steadier volume. You know what Brunson is already.

Injury/Eligibility Notes

Watch Cavs practice reports tomorrow. A 33-point win usually means rest is coming for their stars. Mitchell could be headed for a DNP-CD if this is part of a bigger load management plan.

Slate Note: Not enough info on tomorrow's games yet, but monitor Cavs/Mavericks situations for both lineups. Dallas will want to respond, and Cleveland might rest guys after that demolition.
