The Headlines

Nikola Jokic just reminded everyone why he's the engine that makes Denver go. His 55.1 Yahoo points carried the Nuggets past Minnesota in a grind-it-out 116-105 win that easily could've gone either way. The Joker was doing Joker things: facilitating, scoring when he needed to, and dragging Denver across the finish line when the Wolves got chippy. This is the performance that wins you weeks.

Meanwhile, Cleveland turned Toronto into a practice squad. Donovan Mitchell went off for 43.6 Yahoo points as part of a blowout that never felt close. The Cavs are looking scary good right now, and Mitchell's proving he's a legitimate first-option guy on a contender.

Top Performers

  1. Nikola Jokic - 55.1 Yahoo FP (DEN). The definition of "you need this guy to win." Steady, dominant, irreplaceable.

  2. Donovan Mitchell - 43.6 Yahoo FP (CLE). Took over when it mattered. Great efficiency night against a struggling Raptors defense.

  3. Jamal Murray - Carried the load alongside Jokic. Murray had to do heavy lifting in the backcourt and delivered when Denver needed buckets down the stretch.

  4. Al Harrington - Showed up in the Cavs' clinic. Part of Cleveland's balanced attack that buried Toronto.

  5. James Harden - 43.6 Yahoo FP (CLE). Wait, Harden? Yeah, the Beard went nuclear. He was Cleveland's secondary engine and made life miserable for the Raptors.

The Disappointments

Toronto's entire roster looked lost. The Raptors got outclassed on both ends and nobody stepped up to make Cleveland sweat. If you started anyone in red and white, your night stung.

Minnesota couldn't get stops when it mattered. Denver's win came despite Minnesota being in position to steal it. Their role players didn't show up when Jokic was operating in beast mode.

Waiver Priority

  1. Backup guards from Denver - If Murray gets gassed from carrying load, Denver's bench ball handlers could see minutes in close games. Worth a stash.

  2. Cavs role players - Cleveland's balance is real. Find out who's getting consistent run in this blowout situation and grab them before the waiver rush realizes Cleveland's for real.

  3. Any Wolves guards not named Anthony Edwards - Minnesota needs to figure out their guard rotation. Someone's about to break through as a consistent minutes guy.

  4. Raptors long-term projects - Toronto needs a reset badly. This team is searching. Young guys could be about to get increased opportunity as the front office figures things out.

Sell High, Buy Low

Sell High:

  • Mitchell - His 43.6 is real, but it came in a blowout where Cleveland didn't need to grind. Next game might not be this clean. If someone in your league is panicking and offering a haul, listen.
  • Jokic - Just kidding. Never sell Jokic unless you get ridiculous value. But his 55.1 is his floor, not ceiling.

Buy Low:

  • Any Nuggets role player who had a quiet night - Denver's winning close games. Murray's doing the work. Someone in the rotation is about to explode just because of volume.
  • Toronto defenders - They got cooked but talent is still there. Opposing fantasy managers might be giving up on them too early.

Bottom Line

Jokic stays Jokic. Mitchell proved he belongs in the conversation with the elite wings. The Cavs are a problem. The Raptors are a project. Act accordingly.
