Rockets Stole One at Home, But Your Fantasy Squad Got Mixed Results

Final: Rockets 113, 76ers 102

Look, I'm hyped the Rockets won at home, but real talk, this game was weird for fantasy. The Sixers came in without Joel Embiid (I'm assuming load management or injury, but he's not in the box score), which completely changed the vibe. Philly's whole offensive structure goes out the window without their MVP-caliber center, and Houston capitalized. But here's the thing, your fantasy lineups probably didn't feel as clean as the final score suggests.

KD Showed Out but Wasn't Perfect

Kevin Durant dropped 29/7/5 for 41.9 Yahoo FP and honestly, that's exactly what you want from a $7K+ player on most slates. He hit his season average plus change on points, knocked down three triples, and played 37 minutes. The efficiency was clean too, 10-18 from the field. But here's the thing, this wasn't him taking over a game. He was good, not great. The Rockets won because Houston's role players actually stepped up, not because KD went nuclear. For season-long leagues, he's doing what you drafted him for. No complaints.

Sengun Got Cooked, and It's Concerning

This one stung. Alperen Sengun put up 8/12/4 for only 28.4 Yahoo FP, which is his WORST performance relative to season average. He's averaging 20.3 points per game and came out with 8. That's a minus-12.3 point swing. Without Joel Embiid in the paint, you'd think Sengun gets more room to operate. Nope. 4-14 from the field tells the story, he couldn't find his rhythm. This feels like an off-night rather than a trend, but if you're thinking about selling high on him in a deal, maybe don't wait. These outlier games can trigger panic.

Amen Thompson Quietly Did His Thing

Amen Thompson had one of those performances where the counting stats look mid but the impact was real. 19/5/4 with 3 steals in 41 minutes. The assists are down from his season average (5.3 to 4), which is a slight concern, but he's your engine in that backcourt now. The steal count pushes him to 35.0 Yahoo FP, which is solid for a guy who some league GMs might've let slip through waivers earlier in the season. Keep riding him.

Tari Eason Is a Sneaky Wave Add

Tari Eason continues to creep into the conversation. 15/8/2 with three threes in just 27 minutes of action. That's plus-4.5 on points versus his season average, and the rebounding was exactly at his norm (6.3 per game, he hit 8 tonight). Here's the play: if he's available in 12-team leagues, grab him. He's getting minutes in a winning system and his floor is solid now. The three-point shooting uptick is real too, not a one-off.

Josh Okogie Had a Weird Game

Josh Okogie went 4-8 from the field for 9 points with 11 rebounds in 21 minutes. That's borderline supernatural for a guard who averages 4.6 points and 2.6 rebounds normally. He's still not somebody you're starting in most formats, but if you needed a deep bench plug who could give you boards off the bench, tonight proved it's possible. Don't read too much into it. This was an anomaly.

76ers' Depth Got Exposed Without Embiid

On Philly's side, VJ Edgecombe led the way with 21/6/8 for 44.2 Yahoo FP, which is plus-4.9 on his season average. He played 40 minutes and basically had to run the offense without Embiid, which he did competently. Tyrese Maxey still got his 23/3/5 but that's minus-5.3 on his season average. Without another star, Maxey's playmaking opportunities dry up when teams can load up on him.

Kelly Oubre Jr. had a hot shooting night (7-10) for 16/4/1 and 32.3 Yahoo FP, but again, this is what Philly needs when Embiid's out. Role players gotta step up. Andre Drummond actually delivered on the glass (15 rebounds!) but only 5 points. That's the classic Drummond line, but for fantasy purposes, the glass was there (33.5 Yahoo FP). Not complaining if you have him on a streaming contract.

Dominick Barlow popped up in the trending adds section with 29.6 Yahoo FP on 2/8/0/2/4. He got 4 blocks, which saves his line when his scoring disappears. Block-happy guys can save your night on deep benches if you're streaming defenses or frontcourt depth.

The Waiver Takeaway

Josh Okogie got added based on tonight, and I get it, but don't overreact. Dominick Barlow is more interesting if you need blocks in a points league. Tari Eason is the real add if still available, his minutes are real and he's in a winning environment.

Steven Adams is trending down league-wide (dropped 0.0% but sitting at 1.6% owned), and honestly, with Andre Drummond vacuuming boards, Adams is a fade until something changes. Don't use a waiver claim on him.

Real talk, this was a solid Rockets win, but your fantasy Sunday probably wasn't as clean as the scoreboard looked. That's April basketball though. Roll with it.
