Jaylen Brown Goes Nuclear, LaMelo Ball Explodes in Charlotte Loss
The Celtics got the W at home, 113-102, but the fantasy story here is way more interesting than the final margin. Jaylen Brown absolutely went off for 51.3 Yahoo points, while LaMelo Ball put up 50 points of his own in a losing effort. Both guys delivered stat lines that'll win you weeks.

Jaylen Brown is Playing at Another Level Right Now
Look, I'm a Celtics guy. I bleed green. But I'm not gonna sit here and tell you Jaylen Brown is always consistent for fantasy. He's been a frustrating watch some nights. Tonight though? Not one of those nights.
35 points, 9 boards, 13-29 from the field, 6-7 from the line. He hit a 43-minute workload and earned every second. The +6.2 over his season average might look small, but that's because his season average is already elite at 28.8 PPG. He's not overperforming his role here, he's just locked in. This is what he looks like when everything clicks.
For fantasy purposes, Brown's your stable all-star. You know what you're getting. The 51.3 Yahoo points isn't a fluke spike, it's his ceiling showing up. The real question is consistency game to game, not whether he can put up 50. He can. He just doesn't every night.
LaMelo Ball Had His Best Game of the Month
LaMelo Ball with 36 points and a +16.0 over his season average. That's the outlier we actually need to talk about.
Look at that line again: 12-24 from the field, 6 threes, perfect from the line. This is a guy averaging 20 PPG being aggressive and actually getting buckets. The problem is Charlotte's season is pretty much toast, and when teams start tanking or coasting in April, usage is gonna be inconsistent. LaMelo can go 35-point games and 15-point games because the team's not trying to win specific matchups anymore.
If you own him heading into playoffs, nights like this are what you hope for. Just don't bank on it. That +16 looks beautiful, but it's also a reminder he's capable of +5 or even negative regression weeks. Charlotte's not playing for anything except draft positioning at this point.
The Celtics Role Players Stayed Solid
Neemias Queta put up 25.5 Yahoo points in 25 minutes. 6-7 shooting, 12 points, 5 boards. That's efficient, and it matters because Queta's not getting big minutes usually. When the Celtics actually use him, he produces. If you're in deep leagues and caught him off waivers, this is the kind of game that reminds you why.
Derrick White (All-Defensive Second Team, remember) went 4-5 with four threes for 20.9 Yahoo points. White's the kind of guy who wins you weeks you're not expecting because he's just always steady. Not flashy, but reliable.
Payton Pritchard (reigning Sixth Man of the Year, in case you forgot) chipped in 19.3 Yahoo points with 4-8 shooting and four threes. These are the Celtics depth nights where you get contributions across the board instead of just riding Brown and Tatum to a win.
The Hornets' Role Players Disappeared
Miles Bridges had 12 rebounds on 13 points. That's a weird stat line. He was trying on the glass (6.1 boards over his average), but couldn't get anything going offensively. Down 4.3 points from his average but grabbed extra rebounds. Not terrible, but not the game you want from him.
Brandon Miller with 20 points but zero boards. Typically he's around 5 boards a night. This was more of a scoring-only game from him, which is fine for 23 Yahoo points, but it shows how disjointed Charlotte looked on the glass and sharing the ball.
Kon Knueppel went 5-16. That's the kind of inefficient night that kills fantasy value even when you're trying. 5-16 from the field with volume is just not it. He got his assists (5), but 23.5 Yahoo points on bad shooting isn't sustainable.
What You Actually Need to Do
If you own Jaylen Brown, you already know he's a keeper. Nothing changed tonight except confirmation that he can be an elite fantasy asset. Hold him.
LaMelo Ball owners, enjoy this game but don't start counting on it. Charlotte's winding down, and April stat lines can be fluky. He's still a useful player, but that +16 is the ceiling, not the floor.
Neemias Queta is someone to watch if you're in a deeper league. When Boston actually gives him minutes, he doesn't waste them. Can't bank on him for consistent production, but he's the kind of waiver flyer that pays off in the right spots.
The Celtics won a random April game at home. Fantasy-wise, we got a night where the ball moved, two guys went off, and the role players did their job. Nothing revolutionary, just quality basketball that translated to quality fantasy points.
