Bucks Blowout Grizzlies Without Their Stars, But Don't Get Comfortable

Look, I'm not gonna lie, this one stings a little as a Bucks fan. Yeah, we won 131-115 against Memphis, but something was clearly off. And I'm not talking about the scoreboard.

The Grizzlies rolled in without most of their rotation, and the Bucks... well, let's just say Giannis, KPJ, and Bobby Portis didn't suit up either. So basically nobody showed up. But that's actually where this game gets interesting for fantasy purposes, because when your stars are out, weird dudes get opportunities. And some of them capitalized hard.

The Real Story: Rayan Rupert Just Dropped 71 Yahoo Points

Rayan Rupert went absolutely bananas last night. 33 points, 10 rebounds, 10 assists on 9-19 shooting with a 13-16 free throw line. That's a +28.2 on his season average. For context, this guy is averaging 4.8 PPG on the year. One night. That's not sustainable. That's not even close to sustainable.

But here's the thing: he played 39 minutes and got the looks. In a game where both benches were running the rotation, he got paid. If you're in a deep league and he's available, sure, grab him. But don't panic-trade your first rounder expecting this again. This was a specific circumstance, and when the real rosters come back, he's a 4.8 PPG guy again.

The Bucks Role Players Had Night

Cormac Ryan (43.3 Yahoo FP) with 21 points and 5 threes in 29 minutes? That's worth watching. +10 on his season average. Taurean Prince went 7-8 from the field with 5 threes and shot his way to 27.1 Yahoo points, another +11 night. Ousmane Dieng added 34.8 Yahoo FP with a 17/9/6 line.

These are all bench guys who got extended run because the bench was the only roster showing up. Ryan Rollins hit 24 points on solid efficiency (10-16 FG) with 4 threes. That's league-relevant, at least for tonight.

The reality: depth scoring is always volatile. When your stars sit, your third and fourth options eat. When they come back, that evaporates. Don't overreact.

Myles Turner Actually Did His Job

Myles Turner had a quiet 19 points, 11 rebounds, 2 blocks in just 21 minutes. 44.2 Yahoo points on limited action. He was efficient (6-13 FG) and didn't log heavy minutes, which actually matters down the stretch. That's fine play without needing to go nuclear.

Kyle Kuzma's Night Didn't Hit

Kyle Kuzma was the one guy who disappointed relative to his season value. Just 4 points and 4 rebounds in 22 minutes, a -9.1 against his 13.1 PPG average. Doesn't mean he cooked or anything, just didn't get going. One bad game doesn't change his value, but it's worth noting that when teams aren't running their real lineups, the rotations get weird and some guys just don't mesh.

The Bottom Line

This was a "everybody's backup played everybody else's backup" game. It was entertaining for fantasy guys fishing for late-game streaks, but don't make long-term moves based on it. Half the Grizzlies rotation was out. Half the Bucks rotation was out.

Rayan Rupert had a career night and will be getting added in some leagues. Cool. Enjoy it for what it was. But in two weeks when both teams are whole, he's back to low volume.

Focus on who showed efficiency and minutes within the context of a full roster. That's where the signal actually lives. Tonight was chaos league scoring, and chaos league scoring doesn't travel.
