120-101 felt closer than it actually was. The Lakers got out to work against a Wizards squad running on fumes, and while it wasn't the cleanest performance, it gets the job done. For fantasy purposes, this is a game where depth mattered way more than star power, and a few role players just made cases for consistent run.

The LeBron Special
LeBron James basically did whatever he wanted. 21 points, 10 boards, 12 assists on solid efficiency, 33 minutes. Yahoo's got him at exactly 50 FP, which is his season average (20.9 PPG, 6.0 RPG, 6.9 APG) with a massive dime boost that night. The +5.1 in assists compared to his season average is the story here. When the Lakers offense flows through him instead of relying on guys to create their own looks, the whole operation runs smoother. For fantasy, this is the baseline you want from LeBron every single night. Not flashy, just reliable.
The Breakout Brigade
This is where it gets fun. The Lakers' bench absolutely went off, and not all of it was expected.
Jaxson Hayes was the most absurd overperformance. 19 points on 8-8 shooting with 7 boards in just 19 minutes. That's a +11.9 versus his season average of 7.1 PPG. Dude was automatic tonight, and while you can't count on perfect free throws every game, the efficiency and usage are real signals. He's been getting decent run (19-25 minutes), and if the Lakers keep feeding him in pick and roll, there's upside here. His ownership just jumped 1.4% to 67.9%, so people are paying attention.
Luke Kennard dropped 19 on 7-10 shooting with 4 threes. Again, 23 minutes off the bench. The +11 versus his season average (8.0 PPG) is noise-to-signal ratio we usually ignore, but he looked sharp and when he gets run in the Lakers' spacing system, he can hurt people. Don't chase this too hard, but if he's available in 12-team leagues, the 45% three-point volume is worth monitoring.
Even Rui Hachimura contributed with 14 points on 6-10 shooting. Solid efficiency, nothing crazy, but this team has more offensive weapons than people think.
The Ayton Situation
Deandre Ayton being at 28.9 Yahoo FP feels inflated for a night where he basically met expectations. 12 points, 7 boards, 3 blocks on 5-5 shooting in 22 minutes. He's getting run against weak competition and he's taking advantage. The thing is, 12/8 isn't going to move mountains in fantasy. He's a floor play right now, not a ceiling play. If he stays healthy and continues getting 20+ minutes, he's fine as a streaming big, but don't trade for him expecting consistency.
Wizards' Desperate Bench Scoring
The Wizards were clearly playing short-handed (Anthony Davis, Alex Sarr, Trae Young, Kyshawn George all out), and it showed. But their role players had to eat, and some of them produced.
Justin Champagnie went 8-12 from the floor for 18 points with a steal. That's +9.7 points versus his season average of 8.3 PPG. Good night, but also a "the Wizards had no one else" night. Don't get sucked into thinking this is repeatable.
Will Riley dropped 20 points on 8-19 shooting with 2 boards in 35 minutes of run. The volume was there, but the efficiency (42% FG) is the red flag. He's getting minutes because the team is decimated, not because he earned a major role bump. Once their roster gets healthy, expect his minutes to normalize back down.
Tristan Vukcevic at 34.1 Yahoo FP is interesting though. 14 points, 3 boards, 4 steals in 20 minutes suggests the Lakers' offense was finding him late, and the steals volume is a plus. The 5-6 from the line shows he was getting to the rim. For a backup center in a PPG-starved league, he's got some intrigue.
The Bench Narrative
Real talk: this game mattered for depth more than stars. The Lakers' supporting cast stepped up because LeBron wasn't trying to put the team on his back every possession. The Wizards' role players got volume because they had to. Both tell you something about March basketball and how injuries ripple through fantasy value.
For waiver work, the Lakers bench is worth monitoring (Ayton's already gaining ownership), but don't overreact to one good game from role players. The Wizards players who went off? They're probably back on your waiver wire once their main guys return.
The bottom line: Lakers cruised against a shorthanded team, and their depth showed. LeBron did enough, and the role players ate. This isn't the blueprint for huge fantasy nights going forward, just a solid victory that kept LA moving.
