The Headlines

P.J. Washington just put the league on notice. 54.2 Yahoo FP in a Mavs win over Cleveland? That's not a random explosion, that's a player finding his role and running with it. If you've been sleeping on Washington as a streaming option, last night was your wake-up call. Dallas came into hostile territory and stole one, but Washington was the real story. This changes the conversation around Dallas' frontcourt rotation.

The other huge story: Jakob Poeltl absolutely cooked Detroit. 57 ESPN FP is the kind of night that gets you thinking about trade value. Toronto's frontcourt is suddenly looking legit, and Poeltl is leading the charge. If he was available in your league, he won't be much longer.

Top Performers

  1. Jakob Poeltl (TOR) - 57 ESPN FP vs DET. Demolished the Pistons' interior defense. This is the ceiling game for centers, folks.
  2. Julius Randle (OKC) - 59 ESPN FP vs MIN. Efficient as they come in a defensive grind. Thunder got exactly what they needed.
  3. P.J. Washington (DAL) - 54.2 Yahoo FP vs CLE. Breakout night that rewrites the script on Dallas' rotation pieces.
  4. Giannis Antetokounmpo (MIL) - 31 points in a 11-point win over Indiana. Classic Giannis, keeping it simple and effective.
  5. Bobby Portis (MIL) - The supporting cast showed up hard. Portis went nuclear alongside Giannis.

The Disappointments

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander had an off night in OKC's win over Minnesota. That's the kind of performance that stings when you're counting on your star to carry you. The Thunder still won ugly, but SGA not being his usual self is worth monitoring. One bad game isn't a trend, but it's a data point.

Cunningham for Detroit stayed steady but nothing spectacular in the loss to Toronto. When your big man is getting cooked like Poeltl did, the whole offense suffers. Shooters have nowhere to hide.

Waiver Priority

  1. P.J. Washington - Priority #1, no question. That 54.2 game tells you Dallas is gonna lean on him. Grab him before the waiver wire gets wise.
  2. Bobby Portis - If he's still available, move fast. Milwaukee's bench is suddenly dangerous, and Portis is the catalyst.
  3. Backup wings from Toronto - Poeltl's explosion means the Raptors' spacing is working. Role players in that system get run.

Sell High, Buy Low

Sell High: Poeltl if you're in a league where his name just made noise. A 57 FP game is a ceiling game. Buyers will overpay right now. If someone offers you value, consider it.

Buy Low: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander. One off night doesn't change what he is. His manager might be nervous. That's your opening to propose something.

Watch: Giannis is humming. If anyone in your league is panicking about his consistency, now's the time to lock him in for a deep playoff run. His play is trending right.
