The Headlines
Giddey's breakout changes the narrative. The Bulls' guard just dropped 56.8 Yahoo points on Milwaukee and suddenly he's not a stream anymore, he's a roster lock. Chicago dismantled the Bucks 120-97 in a way that felt almost disrespectful. If Giddey keeps this up, he's a top-50 asset the rest of the season.
Jokic showed up to work, everybody else called in sick. The Nuggets lost to Minnesota 117-108 despite Nikola Jokic putting up 68.1 Yahoo points. That's the kind of individual dominance that usually wins games. Not last night. Denver's supporting cast is becoming a real problem.
Bridges carried the Knicks, but there's chaos underneath. New York cruised past San Antonio 114-89 with Mikal Bridges dropping 60 ESPN points. The blowout appearance is misleading though. This game had some wild usage shifts that matter for your lineups going forward.
Wolf's night wasted as Cavs survive Brooklyn. Cleveland escaped with a 106-102 win, but Wolf's big performance in the loss is worth remembering. Brooklyn's close games are starting to pile up, and that changes playoff outlook for both teams.
Top Performers
Nikola Jokic (DEN) - 68.1 Yahoo FP. Absolute destruction. This is what MVP-level dominance looks like even when your team loses.
Josh Giddey (CHI) - 56.8 Yahoo FP. The type of explosion that gets a guy off waiver wires and into everyday conversation. Chicago's got something cooking.
Mikal Bridges (NYK) - 60 ESPN FP. Feast game against a weak Spurs defense, but we're taking it and moving on.
Wolf (BKN) - Impressive outing in a losing effort. The Cavs' defense couldn't contain him, but it wasn't enough.
Jokic's supporting cast - Absolutely invisible. This matters more than you think.
The Disappointments
Milwaukee got embarrassed. We're not singling out one guy here because the whole roster underperformed. When you lose by 23 at home, it's a team failure. Giddey's explosion made the Bucks' defense look like a pickup game.
Denver's role players vanished. Jokic had 68.1 points and Denver still lost. That's not on him. His teammates need to start showing up in these games or the Nuggets' playoff seeding gets dicey fast.
San Antonio got punked. Down 25 to the Knicks by the end. Not much to work with there, but if you're holding any Spurs hoping for a bounce-back, maybe reconsider.
Waiver Priority
Josh Giddey (if available). Priority 1. That 56.8 point night wasn't a mirage. He's moved into the conversation as a legitimate contributor now.
Mikal Bridges handcuff (whoever's getting next looks in Knicks rotation). Bridges just confirmed he can carry games, but monitor usage for whoever benefits from the spacing he creates.
Brooklyn bench pieces. Wolf had a huge night. If there's secondary production available in the Nets rotation, it could pop off again in close games.
Chicago depth. Giddey's explosion means opportunity. Anyone getting extra minutes in the Bulls' suddenly competent offense is worth grabbing.
Sell High, Buy Low
SELL: Giddey (carefully). Before you panic, hear us out. He just had the game of his life. If a desperate team wants to overpay, this is the moment to move him. Don't give him away, but test the market on a 56.8 point night.
BUY: Jokic (if someone's panicking). One loss doesn't change what he is. If anyone's sour on him after dropping 68 points in a loss, take that deal and run.
BUY: Bucks role players (dip incoming). Milwaukee got smoked, but that's one game. Grab anybody who fell in value from that blowout at a discount.
SELL: Spurs, any position. The talent gap between them and the Knicks was obvious. If you've got anyone on San Antonio, it's a good time to consolidate.
Watch List
Minnesota's win over Denver matters more than it looks. If the Timberwolves can actually compete with top teams, that changes everything about their playoff rotation usage. Keep an eye on who gets the extra minutes in their next games.
