VJ Edgecombe Goes Nuclear, Team Vince Survives Sloppy 41-36 Affair

Look, this game was basically a fantasy basketball car crash with one really bright spot. Team Vince 41, Team T-Mac 36. That's the kind of final score you see in a rainy Tuesday night pickup game, not a matchup you're gonna remember. But here's the thing: VJ Edgecombe absolutely cooked, and if you've got him rostered, you're riding high right now.

The Edgecombe Show

VJ Edgecombe put on a clinic in just 12 minutes. 6-8 from the field, 3 threes, 2-2 from the line. 17 points, 5 boards, 1 assist. That's 23.5 Yahoo FP in limited run, and he actually went off compared to his season average (17 points vs his normal 14.9). This is the kind of efficiency you dream about, especially when you factor in he didn't turn the ball over despite shouldering offensive load.

Real talk though: 12 minutes. That's your red flag. You're not gonna get this production night in and night out if the minutes don't expand. But if he's getting legitimate rotation time going forward, he's absolutely someone you want in your lineup. The shooting stroke is legit, and his usage rate with limited touches suggests the offense runs through him when he's on the floor.

The Disappointing Vince Side

Everyone else on the winning team basically stunk. Kyshawn George had 12 FP but went 9-11 below his season scoring average. Jaylen Wells put up 11.1 Yahoo FP while running nearly 6 points cold from his normal output. Derik Queen was particularly rough, mustering just 2 points on 0-3 shooting and relying on free throws to pad the stat line. This was a one-man show, and it barely got the job done.

Team T-Mac's Silver Linings

Jaylon Tyson led the losing team with 17 Yahoo FP off the bench, going 3-5 from the field with solid shooting stroke (2 threes). Only ran about 4 points cold from his seasonal average, so this was pretty much a normal night for him. Not enough to will his team to victory, but the efficiency was there.

Kel'el Ware had 13.6 Yahoo FP with 7 points, 3 boards in limited time, though he did underperform his rebounding average significantly (came in at 9.2, left with 3). That's something to monitor. The scoring was fine, but if he can't hit his rebound totals, his fantasy value takes a hit.

The Real Story

This was sloppy basketball. Low scoring total, limited bench production across both squads, and for most players, it was a night where they didn't hit their season averages. The only player who really elevated was Edgecombe, and if he's not getting 12+ minutes consistently, he's a streaming option, not a core guy.

If you're holding anyone from the losing squad, don't panic. It's one game. But if you're shopping Kyshawn George or looking to move Derik Queen, tonight's the night to hold firm and wait for a better performance before selling low. Meanwhile, keep an eye on Edgecombe's usage. That efficiency doesn't sustain, but the shooting ability is real.
