Warriors Got Obliterated and You Need to Know Why

Look, I'm not gonna sugarcoat this. The Warriors got absolutely worked 83-108 in Minnesota, and it wasn't even close. I watched this one at the station between calls, and the depth issue we've been talking about all season finally caught up with them in a bad way. The Timberwolves brought a complete lineup while Golden State looked skeletal. That's the real story here.

But before we get into the doom and gloom, let's see who actually showed up to play:

Player ESPN FP Yahoo FP Tonight Season Avg +/- Pts
Rudy Gobert 42.0 44.4 15/17/2 10.9/11.3/1.7 +4.1
Donte DiVincenzo 48.0 39.8 15/4/8 13.4/4.6/4.2 +1.6
Bones Hyland 44.0 37.9 17/7/5 6.7/1.5/2.6 +10.3
Naz Reid 41.0 36.9 15/7/3 14.3/6.3/2.4 +0.7
Jaden McDaniels 30.0 28.1 14/3/3 14.8/4.5/2.9 -0.8
Gui Santos 23.0 28.0 11/10/2 4.0/2.6/1.1 +7.0
Will Richard 29.0 27.9 4/2/3 6.9/2.4/1.4 -2.9
Julius Randle 21.0 26.4 18/7/2 22.2/7.0/5.4 -4.2
Pat Spencer 22.0 24.0 10/5/6 5.4/2.0/3.0 +4.6
Brandin Podziemski 15.0 23.4 12/7/4 12.2/4.5/3.4 -0.2

The Timberwolves Cruised

Minnesota's depth is legit scary right now. Rudy Gobert did what Rudy Gobert does, punishing Golden State's smaller lineup with 44.4 Yahoo points. 15 boards, 17/17 from the field, two blocks. That's not flashy but that's efficient as hell. The Warriors had nobody to match his size in the paint.

Bones Hyland is the real story though. Up 10.3 points from his season average, 37.9 Yahoo FP in just 24 minutes. That's a guy getting real runway in this system, and it showed. Six of nine from the field, three threes. If he keeps getting minutes in the high 20s, he's a league-winner on the waiver wire in deeper formats. I'm adding him in 12-team leagues if he's sitting there.

Donte DiVincenzo with the balanced attack, 39.8 Yahoo FP on four three-pointers and eight assists. That's his game. Not gonna win you a night, but he's consistent as they come. Naz Reid added 36.9, just doing Reid things off the bench. Minnesota's bench is outscoring Golden State's entire roster at this point.

Warriors Got Exposed (And It Stings)

Here's the thing that kills me as a diehard Warriors guy, I gotta be real: seeing that box score and not seeing Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Jonathan Kuminga, De'Anthony Melton, Seth Curry, or Al Horford listed... that's telling. Either they were rested, and Minnesota didn't care, or there's something else going on. Either way, this lineup got worked.

Gui Santos led Golden State with 28 Yahoo FP and 11 points on 13 shots. That's your leading scorer, and he's a secondary option on a championship team. That right there tells you everything about this game. He did grab 10 boards though, so at least there was something positive.

Will Richard with 27.9 Yahoo FP, 4 points and 3 assists. The kid's competing but he's still learning. Pat Spencer showing fight with 24 Yahoo points and six assists in 33 minutes of run. These are guys getting opportunities because the actual roster is either out or sitting. This isn't sustainable fantasy value.

What This Means for Your Roster

If you've got Warriors rotation guys, don't panic yet. This smells like a rest game or lineup maintenance. We'll know more once I see the injury report tomorrow. But that said, Timberwolves guys who got run tonight are worth watching. Bones Hyland especially. You don't get that kind of efficiency bump and not stay involved.

Julius Randle was quiet, honestly. 26.4 Yahoo FP is solid but he's down four points from his season average. Doesn't feel like a trend, just one of those nights. He's still your guy.

The Warriors rotation is too compromised right now to trust anyone not named Steph. When the full squad comes back, sure, reassess. But tonight's game? It's basically meaningless for their value. Minnesota just showed their depth is real, and that matters if you're considering trades involving Wolves role players.
